Marrakech ⇢ High Atlas mountains ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Dades Valley

The 3-day Marrakech desert tour begins at 8 AM from the airport or your Marrakech Hotel. Then drive across the magnificent High Atlas highlands and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Stops will be made for panoramic views of the stunning scenery.

Following that, We will visit the famed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou—a fortified settlement designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in movies such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy. In addition, there are television shows such as Game of Thrones. Then we travel to Ouarzazate, known as ¨The Gate of the Desert. After lunch, we will continue our tour of Rose Valley, passing through Skoura’s vast palm grove. Finally, we drive to Boumalne Dades, where we will spend the night.

Dades Valley ⇢ Tinghir Oasis ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Merzouga desert

On the second day of your Morocco desert tour, we travel through the Dades Valley and stop at a viewpoint overlooking the Valley to take in the stunning panorama of the Dades Gorges, where the passage of the Todra River has cut a spectacular canyon through the mountains, resulting in a steep red cliff-side gorge. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery. Following that, we drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. There will be time for lunch along the route.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. You switch to camels to cross the sandy desert. A pouse will be made for you to admire the spectacular sunset from the top of a high dune. Then go to the desert luxury camp, where you may listen to Berber drum music while dancing around the campfire beneath the huge open sky of stars. Dinner and stay at the camp.

Merzouga ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Agdez ⇢ Ouarzazate

  If you get up early today, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful sunrise. The amazing display of colors can be seen from the nearest dune to your campsite. After a delicious breakfast at the camp, you have two alternatives for getting back to Merzouga: a camel trekking adventure or a comfy 4-by-4 car ride.

Khamliya, a settlement near the town, is well-known for its exquisite Gnawa music. Here, we’ll take a time to enjoy the enchanting sounds of this Moroccan music style. Our next visit will be Rissani, an ancient city that is historically significant as the birthplace of Morocco’s present ruling family and an important halt along old trade routes. If it’s Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, we’ll be able to explore the city’s traditional Moroccan souk.

Our drive continues from Rissani to Agdez, passing through the gorgeous Draa Valley, which is absolutely charming. The road leads us to Ouarzazate, where we will arrive in the afternoon and check into our accommodations.

Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou kasbah ⇢ Telouet Kasbah ⇢ Marrakech

Today, we start our tour with a delicious breakfast before heading out to visit Ouarzazate, also known as the Hollywood of Africa and a crucial entrance to the Sahara desert. This city is notable for housing Africa’s largest studio, the renowned Atlas Studios, as well as the historic Taourirt Kasbah.

After immersing oneself in the allure of Ouarzazate, our journey continues to the intriguing Ait Ben Haddou. We’ll have the opportunity to explore the old Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which has been protected by UNESCO since 1987. This magnificent fortress has served as the setting for countless renowned films and television shows, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones, adding to its attractiveness.

As we end our study of the enchanting Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, we continue on to the colorful city of Marrakech, passing through the gorgeous Atlas Mountains. The trip takes us through a tapestry of stunning views, highlighting the charm and attraction of the little Berber communities dotting the mountainside. Along the trip, we will have the opportunity to stop and enjoy Telouet’s beautiful Kasbah.
