Chefchaouen ⇢ Meknes ⇢ Fes

After breakfast, feel free to explore the magnificent lanes of the blue city of Chefchaouen. Then we go to the old Roman ruins of Volubilis. It is well protected because UNESCO designated it a World Heritage Site. Several exquisite mosaics and old pillars and archways are sprinkled throughout. After meandering among the ruins, we drive 30 kilometers to Meknes. The city is recognized as the Ismaili capital and one of the imperial cities. In which we explore Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, and the Granary. There’s also the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we travel to Fes. Overnight stay at a Riad.

Sightseeing of Fes

After breakfast in your riad, you will begin exploring Fes, known as “the Spiritual City of Morocco”. Consequently, you will spend the entire morning touring the Medina and its lanes.

The tour begins with visits to the majority of cultural and historical monuments, including the famed Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the world’s oldest), as well as the Madrasa Bouanania. Also included are the tanneries and the Najjarine fountain.

After lunch, we will take you outside of the Medina to see the Royal Palace entrance, walk through the Jewish quarter “the Mellah,” and visit the pottery cooperative.

Later in the afternoon, we will take you to one of the fortresses to get a panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fes. Finally, stay overnight at the same riad.

Fes ⇢ Azrou⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga Desert

After your breakfast at your riad. Then we drive south through Imouzzer to Ifrane, which is famous for its cold temperatures, snow, and alpine-style residences. It’s no surprise that it’s known as Morocco’s Switzerland. Following that, we head to the cedar forest, where the Barbary Macaques live. Feel free to feed them while strolling through the forest. Later, we will travel to Midelt, where lunch will be provided. Then we go to the Sahara desert, driving across the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and down the Ziz River.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Then swap to camels to cross the sandy desert. Following that, a stop will be made for you to watch the spectacular sunset from the top of a high dune. Then proceed to the desert campsite. Where you can listen to Berber drum music while dancing around a campfire under the huge open sky of stars. Dinner and stay at the camp.

Merzouga Desert ⇢ Rissani⇢ Todra Gorges ⇢ Dades Valley

Wake up early to see the stunning sunrise in the middle of the desert. You have free time for breakfast before riding camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. We leave the desert to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important trading center in the region, with a thriving souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

After a tour around Rissani Souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit one of the fossilized marble workshops. We next drive via Touroug and Tinjdad palm fields to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of the Todra River has cut out a magnificent canyon through the mountains, resulting in a steep red cliff-sided canyon. These gorges are perfect for rock climbing. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery. Free time for lunch at a restaurant. Then we go to the Dades valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. The inevitable stop comes at the “monkey fingers” rock structure. And on top of a mountain, overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, food and a night in a hotel.

Locals sell a variety of rose items, including perfumes, rose items, rose water, oil, and cosmetics. Then we drive by other Kasbah, including Amridil Kasbah, which is encircled by a palm tree forest in Skoura. We arrive in Ouarzazate and have free time for lunch in town. Then we drive to Marrakech over the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and High Atlas Mountains. Finally, we will get to your hotel or the airport in Marrakech. end of the tour.
